Japansk trana - Grus japonensis - Red-crowned crane
© NF Photo 160130 Otowa Bridge, Hokkaido, Japan
Some says this is the best looking crane in the world. After this day I am tempted to agree.
First image was on a bridge at dawn. The last one at lunch time. They spent the night in the river and got breakfast and lunch at a sanctuary, Akan Tancho no Sato.

Great photos of the Crane. It is certainly very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteNice images.
ReplyDeleteThe Red Crown Crane is indeed beautiful but I think the most beautiful of all is in the eye of the beholder. There are 15 species of Cranes in the world and every one of them is a sight to see ... These pictures are wonderful, Monica ... You must have had goose pumps being close enough to take them.

That crane in the middle of the last picture has a real attitude about him...I am the King of the World. There in NO other crane more beautiful than I. Love the photos and am amazed by them. Great captures. genie
