Nene or Hawaiian goose - Branta sandvicensis

This is the last species I have from Oahu and it is taken in the Honolulu Zoo. Nene is not native to Oahu but to some of the other Hawaii islands. Acc to the wiki article it is probably evolved from the Canada goose.
 It was a lot of birds in this zoo, but I will save them for better days. It is great birds but lot of fences spoils the images and they are fom all over the world.
If I made no misstakes I had 21 species while birding on my own. But it was low season and bird areas was closed and so were birding tours. I hope you enjoyed those I shared. :)

  4. I remember the first time I saw one of these in Hawai'i on the island of Oahu. they're so much prettier in real time. Not that your photo isn't good...I'm not saying that. It was just seeing them in their own habitat and in the wild...I was very pleased to find one!!
